La Posada is, first, a place — a corner of the Palacio del Rey Sancho, one of the most emblematic buildings in Valldemossa, with a terrace that opens onto the Serra de Tramuntana. And it is, second, a kitchen: the village's wood-fired grill.
A building with history
The Palacio del Rey Sancho sits beside the Real Cartuja — the Charterhouse where, centuries later, Chopin and George Sand spent their famous winter. To dine here is to eat inside Valldemossa's history, on stone that has watched the village grow. Few restaurants anywhere can offer a setting of this age paired with a view of this beauty.
Our kitchen
We built La Posada around the parrilla — the open wood fire — because it is the most honest way to cook. Island lamb, premium beef and the day's fish go on the flame; fresh Mallorcan produce and Mediterranean dishes fill the table; Mallorcan wines finish it. Nothing hides behind heavy sauces — see it all on the menu.
