The Wood-Fired Grill of Valldemossa

Suckling lamb, premium beef and the day's catch, cooked over open flame on our panoramic terrace.

Reserve a table

La Posada is Valldemossa's grill house. While the village is full of fine kitchens, we are the one built around the parrilla — the open wood fire — where every cut is finished over flame and smoke and brought to the table at its best. You can taste the difference in the first bite.

Cooked over open flame

Grilling well is not complicated, but it is exacting. We cook over a wood fire so the heat is alive — searing the outside, sealing the juices, and leaving that unmistakable note of smoke. Meats rest before they are served; fish goes on whole and comes off moments before it reaches you. Nothing is rushed and nothing is hidden behind heavy sauces — the fire does the work.

Local produce, Mallorcan wines

We lean on the island for what we serve — fresh Mallorcan produce and island lamb wherever the season allows — and pour a careful selection of Mallorcan wines chosen to stand up to grilled meat. Ask our team and they will guide you to the right glass for your cut.

A grill with a view

The grill sits within the Palacio del Rey Sancho, one of Valldemossa's most emblematic buildings, and spills onto a terrace with open views of the Serra de Tramuntana. Few places let you eat wood-fired lamb with a UNESCO mountain range in front of you — read more about dining on our terrace, or simply book a table.

The same fire sets the scene for the occasions that matter: a romantic dinner for two as the light turns gold, or private events and celebrations gathered around the grill on the terrace.

Grill — questions & answers

What kind of grill restaurant is La Posada?

La Posada is a wood-fired grill — a traditional parrilla — specialising in grilled meats and fish cooked over open flame. It is the only dedicated grill restaurant in the village of Valldemossa, set on the panoramic terrace of the historic Palacio del Rey Sancho.

What are the signature grilled dishes?

Our signatures are the suckling lamb chops, the premium cow entrecôte and the lamb tenderloin, all cooked on the wood grill. We also grill fresh sea bream and barbecue chicken wings, and serve garlic prawns and grilled starters.

Where does the meat come from?

We work with fresh, locally sourced Mallorcan produce wherever possible, including island lamb, and finish everything on the wood grill so the flame and smoke carry the flavour.

Do I need a reservation for dinner at the grill?

Reservations are strongly recommended, especially in the evening and in peak season (June–August). You can book online at any time; we are open daily from 11:00 to 22:30.

Is the grill terrace suitable for groups?

Yes. The terrace seats groups comfortably and is a popular choice for celebrations and private events. Contact us in advance for group menus and larger parties.
