Dining on the Terrace, Above the Tramuntana

Open mountain views, warm Mallorcan light and a table on one of Valldemossa's most beautiful terraces.

Reserve a table

Some meals you remember for the food. The best ones you remember for the view as well. At La Posada you eat on the terrace of the Palacio del Rey Sancho, with the Serra de Tramuntana — Mallorca's UNESCO-listed mountain range — opening out in front of you.

The view

Valldemossa sits high in the Tramuntana, and our terrace looks straight out over the green slopes and stone villages that made the range famous. By day the light is sharp and clear; in the late afternoon it turns gold, and the mountains soften. It is the kind of setting people travel across the island to find — and it is simply where you sit to eat.

A table for every moment

Whatever brings you up here, the terrace is the setting for it all: a relaxed lunch with a view, the Mallorcan and Mediterranean dishes that come off our fire, an intimate romantic dinner at sunset, or larger private events and celebrations.

Inside a piece of history

The terrace belongs to the Palacio del Rey Sancho, one of the oldest and most emblematic buildings in Valldemossa, beside the Real Cartuja (Charterhouse). Few restaurants anywhere let you dine within a building of this age while looking out over a mountain range of this beauty.

Terrace tables are limited and book quickly. To dine with the Tramuntana in front of you, reserve a table and let us know you'd like the terrace, or explore the menu first.
