Tapas in Valldemossa

Small plates and dishes to share on our panoramic terrace — from Galician octopus to Mallorcan pa amb oli.

Reserve a table

Some of the best eating at La Posada happens before the main course even arrives. Our tapas and dishes to share are built for the middle of the table — a spread of small plates to graze over, a glass of Mallorcan wine in hand, with the Serra de Tramuntana in front of you. Come for a full meal or just for tapas and a drink on the terrace.

Dishes to share

The idea is simple: order a few plates for the table and pass them around. It's the most relaxed way to eat, and it lets everyone taste a bit of everything — which is exactly how a long Mallorcan lunch should feel.

Mallorcan & Mediterranean small plates

For a real taste of the island, start with pa amb oli — Mallorca's everyday classic of country bread rubbed with olive oil and tomato, served with cured ham. Around it sit Mediterranean favourites: burrata bruschetta with tomato confit, hummus with falafel, fried goat cheese with chutney, tzatziki with bread, and feta-filled sigara börek. Vegetarian tables are well looked after — many of the sharing plates are meat-free.

Tapas with a view

Everything is served on the panoramic terrace of the historic Palacio del Rey Sancho, with open views over the Serra de Tramuntana. Pair a few tapas with something from the wood-fired grill and a Mallorcan wine, and you have the makings of a long, easy lunch.

Where to find the best tapas in Valldemossa

Tapas in Valldemossa — questions & answers

Does La Posada serve tapas in Valldemossa?

Yes. Alongside our wood-fired grill we serve a full range of tapas and dishes to share, from Galician-style octopus and fried Padrón peppers to garlic prawns and a Mallorcan pa amb oli — ideal to start a meal or to graze across the table on the terrace.

What are the best tapas to order?

Favourites are the Galician-style octopus with potatoes, the garlic prawns in butter, the fried Padrón peppers, the spinach croquettes with pine nuts and the selection of four La Troya mezze. For something typically Mallorcan, order the pa amb oli.

Are there vegetarian tapas?

Plenty. Grilled asparagus with Parmesan, burrata bruschetta with tomato confit, hummus with falafel, fried Padrón peppers, tzatziki, fried goat cheese with chutney and spinach croquettes are all vegetarian.

Can we share tapas between the whole table?

That is exactly how they are meant to be eaten. Order a spread of small plates for the middle of the table and share — it works beautifully for groups, and pairs naturally with a few dishes off the grill.

Do I need to book a table for tapas and drinks?

In peak season (June–August) a terrace table is best reserved in advance, especially at lunch. We are open daily from 11:00 to 22:30; you can book online at any time.
